Near-Mint SS/SS Breitling Professional B2 Chronograph Chronometre with Beautiful Blue Dial!!! $1,850 ($3,500 list) + $40 (S/H/I)
This is a discontinued model from Breitling since 2006 and fast becoming a collector's item, a classic! The B-2 is an aviation chronograph in line with the noblest Breitling tradition. The fact that its appearance echoed that of the famous pilots' chronographs made by Breitling from the fifties to the seventies was no coincidence. The B-2 is powered by 38 jewel Breitling Caliber 42, a self-winding movement with special 3-hour and 10-minute totalizers.
I have always loved the B2 and had owned one before. You can watch the watch review at Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tuxyu0iL3P8&feature=related).
Some claimed it to be the best slide rule watch in the world! According to those who really explored this topic (not me): the compass rose can be used to mark your heading @ 12 if you are a pilot or Flight Simulator geek or land navigator. The slide rule can be used for all distance/rate/speed calculations. A 200 mile drive to the vacation spot at 75 MPH will get you there right about 160 minutes or right under 2 h 45 min without potty stops. You can also calc est. mph, sq-root . . . You use the stop watch and slide rule together to estimate things like mph or bowling ball speed but you have to be math literate. You can also use the B-2 as a compass - just not at night. The pinion gear on the side provides for a very smooth turning of the bezel and for faster turning of the first rule. Make sure you keep the illuminated dot on the bezel centered at 12:00 o'clock with the red 60 right below it.
Self-winding automatic chronometer movement - Breitling Cal 42 based on ETA-2892, certified chronometre, brushed stainless steel case and bracelet (the more expensive model than the high-polished finish), beautiful blue dial, bi-directional rotating bezel with slide rule, date displays between 4 and 5 o'clock positions, cambered sapphire crystal, glare-proofed both sides, with deployment clasp. Water resistance to 100m (330 ft). Chronograph functions: 10-minute totalizer at 9 o'clock. 3-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock.

The case is in near-mint condition with some tiny surface
scuffs on the bezel (can't see them unless you turn the watch at various angles
to look for them very carefully), while the bracelet has two tiny marks at one
center link and some light surface scuffs, at 94% condition. These could
be easily buffed out but they didn't bother me at all. The anti-reflective
coating worked well. My wife complimented that she was able to see the
dial clearly at different angles. However, the anti-reflective coating was
not perfect, with minor swirlies -- that is one thing I found on Breitling
watches. You can't scratch the sapphire crystal but the
coating can be easily scratched.
All Chrono and date functions are working properly. All the hands reset to Zero as
it should. The markers and the hands glow brightly in the dark. The
serial and the model #'s in the caseback are perfectly legible. After
several days of wearing, it kept almost perfect time (+/-2 second per day).
The watch and bracelet fit an 8 1/2" wrist easily.
Sorry, NO box or papers, but will include a Breitling black travel
case (not shown in pics). Got it from a fellow collector TZ and Watchnet good
guy,
Alex Maniscalco. He got it from another collector who purchased it
at an authorized dealer about 2 years ago, but in a move the original owner
lost the box and the paperwork (the price justly reflected such).
Also, I scanned a copy of the slide rule instructions to BreitlingSlideRule1.jpg to BreitlingSlideRule7.jpg, and will provide the files to you when you make the purchase, so you can learn to use the slide rule functions.
This B2 had a list of $3,500. GotYourWatchDotCom sells it at $2,550, BacarioDotCom sells it at $2,800, and OnTheFly sells it at $3,100 for the remaining, fast-depleting inventory! Now it is yours for $1,850 plus $40 shipping/handling/insurance within USA. Sold!
